This group is not one hundred percent anti HOA. We are anti abuse. We are anti corruption. We are anti board members who think they have the right to rule over homeowners instead of serve them. HOAs do not have to be the problem, but the way they exist right now, the way they operate, and the way the laws are ignored or unenforced, is absolutely unacceptable.
The problem is not the concept of an HOA. The problem is what happens when a board goes rogue, overbearing, and steps far outside the bounds of what an HOA is meant to be. Instead of focusing on maintaining common areas, protecting property values, and upholding a clear and reasonable set of community rules, they turn their power toward the smallest and most meaningless issues. They obsess over the miniscule while homeowners are losing their peace, their money, and sometimes even their homes.
This group exists to bring homeowners together. To educate them on their rights. To ensure they know the law. To provide support when they are targeted. To expose misconduct. And to demand that HOAs follow their own rules and the laws of the state.
We believe rules should be fair, consistent, and never more restrictive than what the community agreed to. If a member needs a rule changed, amended, or relaxed, the board is supposed to manage that process and bring it to the community. Not tighten control. Not retaliate. Not weaponize the rules.
HOA Reform League is here because homeowners deserve a voice. We are already building state divisions under this national umbrella. Florida and Louisiana are active, and more states will be announced in the coming days as requests continue to come in.
